Sadly due to civil unrest we are unable to continue with our New Caledonia tribal trek at this time. We leave this experience on our website in the hope that some day in the not too distant future we will be able to return to this magical place and learn so much from the local people.

ACTIVITY LEVELS EXPLAINED

  • Up to 4 hours per day on well formed bush trails with some undulation. Introductory level experiences.

  • Up to 6 hours per day on bush and coastal hilly trails, sometimes rough terrain underfoot. May include beginner kayak/bike.

  • Up to 7 hours of activity per day on bush and coastal hilly trails, with sections of stair climbing, steep ascents. Expect rough terrain underfoot including tree roots and rocky paths in some sections. May include cycling/kayaking.

  • Up to 8+ hours per day, alpine or mountain environments, weather conditions variable, long steep ascents. Rough terrain underfoot for most of each trekking day. May include kayaking/cycling. We have requirements for this Activity Level including previous hiking history.

  • Up to 10 – 12+ hours per day, challenging terrain with altitude, variable alpine weather and rough trails. Generally includes a summit or mountain pass. We have requirements for this Activity Level including previous hiking history.
