GirlsTrek Fit: Putting more heart in to your health
GirlsTrek have dedicated “trek style” training sessions to provide you with the opportunity to improve your health and wellbeing in nature’s classroom. At our GirlsTrek Fit you will experience:
- Specifically tailored exercise to assist you become stronger for treks
- An environment of support and friendship with no judgement
- The mental benefits from exercising in nature
- Laughter and warm-heartedness
GirlsTrek Fit is 2 hours in duration and each week we focus on a particular area of your body to strengthen for trekking.
These include:
- Core
- Upper body
- Leg strength
- Balance
- Technique
Our sessions combine interval training with endurance. We cater for introductory through to advanced fitness.

You can purchase a 10 pass for $180 or a $20 casual pass, cash or card will be accepted on the day.

How do I pay?
You can purchase a $20 casual pass for cash on the day.
NOTE: GirlsTrek Fit Passes are valid for six months from first visit.
What to Wear/Bring?
A good pair of training shoes (boots are not a necessity) back pack with water (at least 1 Litres), cap and towel. We can assist you with purchasing suitable gear if required.
Trekking Levels*
Level 1 – Meander: Mostly flat trails with each walking day 12 kms or less.
Fitness Required: You can walk 3 days per week for one hour on flat terrain with no difficulty
Level 2 – Undulating: Mostly undulating trails with each walking day 15 kms or less.
Fitness Required: You can walk 3 days per week for one hour on undulating terrain with no difficulty
Level 3 – Hills: Mostly hilly trails with some long days and sometimes stairs. Each walking day can be up do 24 kms or less.
Fitness Required: You can walk 4 – 5 days per week on a variety of hills, stairs and flat. You will be able to walk for 3 hours without taking a break carrying at least 5 kgs in a backpack
Level 4 – Small Peaks: Hilly trails with a mountain peak (low), long walking days up to 26 kms or less.
Fitness Required: You can walk long distances of 3 hour or more a couple of times a week carrying up to 10 kgs. You can manage steep terrain as well as tougher climatic conditions (wind/rain/cold)
Level 5 – Big Peaks: Tough big peaks, strenuous trails with some altitude.
Fitness Required: You have a regular training program of endurance and strength training. You can comfortably sustain 6 hour days of walking carrying at least 15 kgs on rough and steep trails.
* These are GirlsTrek own trekking levels. They are based on Australian National Park Standards.
