A lunchbox note to my daughters
IF I had a chance to start again and in some small way I do, watching you dear daughters as you grow and navigate the world, this is what I would say to my younger self.
Have courage to be who you are. Enjoy the comraderie of being with your gang of friends but understand they do not equal you, and they may or may not be your “forevers”. You are your forever, so have the courage to stay true to who you are.
Honour your gift when you see it for the first time and everytime after that. We all have some or one thing we are extra ordinary at and its presence in you will emerge at no pre determined time. When you see it, be delighted, be excited and be strong enough to hold it proudly. Allow it to shine, not stand in the shade for some ‘other’ time.
Don’t be afraid. There is so much to discover in the world. Be careful, but do not hold fear in front of your caution. Seek your adventure and explore the small and subtle, the big and awesome. It is so much fun!
